BHS ALUMNI NAMED BHS PRINCIPAL

The Board of Education approved the recommendation of Dr. Tom LEonard to appoint Mr. Steve McWilliams as principal of Barrington High School, effective July 1, 2008. We are excited about this selection and look forward to having Steve assume the leadership of BHS. Interestingly; Mr. McWilliams is a graduate of BHS; however, he was chosen after a rigorous selection process attracted qualified candidates from throughout the U.S.
 
Mr. McWilliams presently serves as associate principal of BHS, prior to this postition, he was dean of students at BHS from 2002-2007 and was a science teacher at the school from 1998-2002. HE has also served as safety coordinator for District 220 since 2006. Steve began his career in education teaching science at Streamwood (Ill.) High School.
 
Mr. McWilliams is nearing completion of his doctorate in Education Leadership. He holds an advanced certificate in Educational Leadership, a masters degree in curriculum and instruction and a bachelors degree in secondary education. Steve exemplifies the interpersonal skills, strong work ethic adn integrity necessary for success as principal of BHS.
 
Steve is also a member of the BHS Alumni Association. Congratulations Steve!!!
